This is the last card and post for 2011. It felt so good to be in my craft area today after taking a break for Christmas that I decided to make another card. I found a sketch on the Clean and Simple blog. It was so perfect for this little image that I colored earlier today. This cute little digital image is by Stampin Dragon and it was a freebie some time ago. I thought it was really cute.
I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas. We had Christmas at our house with the family, we had a great time and good food. I ordered BBQ and the girls brought side dishes. We like to keep it simple on Christmas and enjoy our day together.
I just had to do one more black and red card this year. I hope you are not sick of seeing this dp as it is my favorite I also am in love with this cute snowman that is hand drawn by Deena Perreault. I think this little guy might be on all my Christmas cards next year. If you would like to see more of Deena's work, you can visit her blog http://acreativeneed.wordpress.com/ or visit her Etsy store - http://www.etsy.com/people/ACreativeNeed.
It was good to make a card since I have taken about two weeks off. I am ready to get back in the swing of things.
The challenge for Paper Cupcakes this week was to use this image, Welcome Winter. I love this sweet image and it is a new release hand drawn by Nina. I love this dp that I have had for some time. I just knew it was going to look good with this little bird. I hope you will hop on There's Magic in the Air. over to the and join us for the challenge this week. It would tickle me to see you there to join in our fun. You just might win a free digi or two.
I suppose most everyone was out shopping today trying to get some of the last minute presents out of the way. It is so hard to believe that Christmas is only 6 days away. Won't be long before you might hear old Santa saying ho, ho, ho as he slides down your chimney.
I am happy you dropped by to take a look at my card.
The challenge for the CCEE Stampers this week was to make a card or 3-D project with an ornament. Well, you can see I slipped in another black and red card. I decided to go with a CAS card and it just doesn't get any better than to use this punch, put a piece of paper under the piece that was punched out. If you can find time during this busy season, we would like for you to join in the challenge with us. Check out the details on CCEE Stampers and take a look at the other team members cards.
Thanks, for taking time out of your busy day to take a peek at my blog.
Today's challenge for Paper Cupcakes is to make a card reflecting winter and bling it up. I chose the Paper Cupcake image Stary Snowman. I colored the snowman with copics. I used Spellbinders triangles to make the Christmas trees. The white border at the bottom is from some Wilton invitations that I found on sale, cut it off the bottom and "Viola", a very easy border. We would be happy to have you join us in our challenge at There's Magic in the Air. Come on over and check out the great cards and tags.
I made this card for my son-in-laws birthday. He got a Harley this summer and I tried to match the color. The Harley looks blue and then in a different light, it has a purple look to it. This is almost like another card I made a few weeks ago except I used a different embossing folder and that bike was red.
It was chilly here today. The cold sure makes me ache all over, even worse than it did before. I hope you all are keeping warm.
The challenge for the CCEE Stampers this week was given by Cindy. Cindy challenged us to use chipboard, either store bought or home made. I chose to use the SU Stitched Stockings with the matching punch. SU sure knows how to make it easy on us. I used a Spellbinder's Fancy tag for the sentiment. A MS branch punch was used to make the branch arrangement to hang the stockings from. I used glitter paper and color bok. You are welcome to join the CCEE Stampers in this challenge. You can find details here : CCEE Stampers.
I still am liking the red, black and white color combo for Christmas cards. The cute little snowman is from Paper Cupcakes. Doesn't he have the cutest face? I used my Cheery Lynn flourish die again, I am sure you have guessed by now that I really I love it. The paper is from Paper Studio.
The challenge for the CCEE Stampers and the Twisted Sisters challenge was to make a card with snowflakes. I punched out the snowflake and put the green glittery paper behind it. This card was very hard to photograph with the glitter and the silver ribbon. It still is not perfect, but better than the one I posted on the CCEE blog. I took that picture last night and that one does not show the green glitter on the snowflake. We would love for you to join us in this challenge. You can find the details on the CCEE Stampers. To join in the Twisted Sisters challenge, you can put 1202 in the keywords when posting on Split coast Stampers. I hope you enjoyed seeing my CAS snowflake card.
The challenge for Paper Cupcakes this week was given by Sonia. We were to make a Shabby Chick or Vintage Christmas card. This one made me step outside of my comfort zone. I chose the Welcome Winter image from Paper Cupcakesthat will be released next month. I used my Cheery Lynn pastry doily from Happy Scrappy (Happy Scrappy-http://www.happyscrappy.us/), along with some lace and poinsettias, I did the distressing with my distress tool and ink. We would love for you to join in the challenge with us. You can see the other team members cards and find the details at There's Magic in the Air.
The temps dropped last night so it feels more like Christmas time. We may get some snow this week. It can snow, but just not on the roads and sidewalks. I really don't think Mother Nature is going to listen to me so maybe my husband should have the snow shovel handy.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will come back soon.
The Twisted Sisters challenge this week was to make a Christmas card with Christ's birth as the main focus. I thought this stamp set was perfect for that. I am really liking the red and black Christmas paper this year. Once again, I made a fork bow. I hope you enjoy the card and think about that first Christmas and the real meaning. That is why Jesus is the reason for the season.
The challenge for the CCEE Stampers this week was given by Joanne. She challenged us to make a one layer card. I received this stamp set (Northern Hearts) from a friend and I was ready to ink up. I saw this card on Splitcoast Stampers and they used crumb cake c/s. You can't tell by the picture, but I used Craft c/s. I embossed each snowflake. I used cherry cobbler, early espresso and craft white ink. The bow was made with a fork.
I hope you all have all your pies made and are ready for a day of Thanksgiving.
The tea potters were making cards this week to send to Neil who had a really bad accident. We are hoping to cheer him up. I wanted to make him a card and to do one that had no foo foo on it. The designer paper is from DCWV and the silver I embossed with a diamond embossing folder. I used a strip of white across the center, but black ribbon would have looked better, but I promised myself to not put that foo foo on Neil's card. I distressed the red piece of card stock to give it a more manly look.
The challenge for Paper Cupcakes was given by Gloria. She challenged us to use brown, orange and yellow on our cards, but with a twist to include words of gratitude. I love these colors and the Cheery Lynn leaves were perfect for this card of thanks. The image "Autumn Splendor" and the ticket are both from Paper Cupcakes. If you would like to join in on this challenge, come on over to There's Magic in the Air . You can find all the details there.
I am wishing all of you a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.
The Twisted Sister Challenge for today was given by Brat. She challenged us to use silver, green and white. I actually had forgotten I had this challenge due today. I thought of it this afternoon and decided to pull off a really quick card. (for once, it worked for me) My Dasher stamp is another that had never been inked. I really am pleased with Dasher in silver. The silver bow is a fork bow. I love making them, but wish I had a bigger fork. (the one I used was fairly big)
The CCEE Stampers challenge this week was to use 2 dies or punches on our project. I chose this image by Paper Cupcakes and decided I planned a purple boat to match my purple checked paper. I wanted a masculine card, but without the ribbon and buttons, it was just too plain. I still think it would be a great man card. The CCEE Stampers would like for you to join us in our challenge. Stop by CCEE Stampers and see what the other team members have made.
The Paper Cupcakes challenge this week was to incorporate a half circle on our cards and use orange, brown and blue for our colors. We would love for you to join us in the challenge, you can find details at There's Magic in the Air blog. If you want to play along with us and do not have a Paper Cupcake image, Nina is offering this image free on the blog.
For the CCEE Stampers challenge this week we were to include 3 different shapes on your card. For example: Circle, Square, Star, Diamond, or even a die shape) I have had this stamp for several years and I think it is the first time I have used it. I am sure this message is what all the Turkeys are saying this month.
We would love for you to join us in theCCEE Stampers blog challenge. Check out the details and see the awesome cards the other team members made .
This card also qualifies for the Twisted Sister Challenge, to make a Thanksgiving card and have 11 punched objects on our cards. I do believe the fall folage has more than 11 punches.
Audrey challenged thePaper Cupcakes team to make a white on white card. We could only use color on the image. I chose this cute Starry Snowman for my image. We would love for you to join us in There's Magic in the Air challenge. Come on over and check out the great cards the other team members made.
The CCEE challenge for this week was given by Tosh. She challenged us to use four different embellishments (buttons, rhinestones, lace, twine, flowers, etc.. I used flower punches and MS branch and leaf punches and beads for the center. The digital image is from Dustin Pikd and it was colored with copics. Stop by the CCEE Blog to get all the details and to see the other team members cards. We would love for you to join us.
Jennifer S. has challenged us with a theme of Trick or Trick - Something Sweet. (Use any sweet themed image i.e. candy, cupcakes, ice cream, etc. ) I used the cupcake with the butterfly by Paper Cupcakes. I used a Cheery Lynn Pastry Doily Die that I purchased from Happy Scrappy - http://www.happyscrappy.us/. Go by the Happy Scrappy site and check out their prices and shipping. The corner adornments are Sizzix dies, I think. We would love for you to join us in the There's Magic in the Air challenge so come on over and have some fun.
This card was made for the Squigglefly Challenge #121, Saying Thank You. My dear friend, Kathy, is the guest designer this week. Way to go, Kathy!!! I chose to use Squigglefly's Bella image to use in my thank you card. I just love the shy bear images.
Thanks, for stopping in to see what is going on in Boxertown. It is always good to hear from you.
ThePaper Cupcakes challenge this week is to make a pink and black card. Pink and black is a color combo that I like working with so I really enjoyed doing this challenge. I have had my Cheery Lynn fanciful flourish die for a few weeks and had never used it, I don't know why I waited so long because I certainly like it. We would love for you to join us for our blog challenge so come on over to There's Magic in the Air and join in the fun. You just might win yourself a free digi. Stop in and check out the other team members cards and the details on winning a free digi or two.
I really appreciate you stopping in, I hope you come back again soon.
The CCEE Stampers challenge for this week was to make a card that had something to do with fall. I used the Whimsey Doodles -Nuts about you digital image. I paper pieced her hat and dress. The inside sentiment says "Awww Nuts, I forgot your birthday".
Thanks, for taking a look and I hope you will come back soon.
The challenge this week forPaper Cupcakes is to use the new Halloween digi-Aye Aye. This was another fun image to work with. Would you like to have this free digi by Nina May? You can find out how to get it and the details of our challenge at Paper Cupcake's Challenge Blog-There's Magic in the Air. I hope you will join us in our challenge.
The CCEE Challenge for this week was to make a card that related to Columbus day which we celebrated this week. I have had these stamps for a long while, but had never used them. I know you don't usually see a sailboat in a bottle, but it was the only ship I had besides a cruise ship. It was hard getting a good picture of the card. The sponging is darker than picture is showing. If you would like to join us for this challenge, go to CCEE Stampers Blog for the details or to view the other team members cards.
A friend of mine used this stamp at one of our monthly card swaps. I loved it so much that I searched for one to buy. I don't do a lot of Halloween cards so I have very few Halloween stamps, now that sounds like a good reason to buy a new stamp. I know, like I need a reason. I have had the designer paper, the metallic copper paper, the brads and the ribbon for a long time. It is good to use some of these things. We always need to make room for new stuff, don't we? I hope you like this cute little girl as much as I did. Thanks, once again, for stopping by.
Sonia gave the challenge this week for the Paper Cupcakes design team. She challenged us to make a card inspired by a scripture and to use it on our cards. I chose the image "Praise Him". I have had this pack of designer paper for awhile and it was perfect for this image and scripture. We would love to have you join us in this challenge and get a chance to win Paper Cupcakes images . You can find the details for the challenge and winning those images at Paper Cupcake's Challenge Blog.
Thanks, for stopping by. I hope to see you again soon.
I made this card for the Twisted Sisters Challenge this week. Kathy challenged us to make a Thanksgiving card with swirls. Due to a fibro flare, I chose to do a CAS card. I used a pumpkin template that I purchased from The Cutting Cafe. I embossed it with the wood embossing folder, I suppose the swirl embossing folder may have been more appropriate for this challenge.
We took in another stray dog this week which is requiring a lot of attention. She evidently was terribly abused. She is a really sweet girl and we hope to find her a good home. So many people are ditching their dogs these days. It is so sad. The bad part is-we can't save them all. I sure wish we could. The last little orphan that came here went to a kennel, which a friend of mine has. She was so attached to us, that she was miserable. Yes, you guessed it, we went back and got her. She loves her new home, although, our home did not need another dog.
I hope you are enjoying the wonderful fall weather. I sure am, but I am not looking forward to the arrival of Old Man Winter.
The challenge for the CCEE Stampers this week was to make a card with our favorite color combo and to have half a circle on the card. I love this dp by My Mind's Eye-Lost and Found. There is no stamping on my card and I feel like a cheater, even though there is nothing that says we have to stamp. This was a fun card once I got in gear and figured out what I was going to do.
You are welcome to join us in the CCEE Stampers challenge. You can find the details and what the other team members have made this week at the CCEE Stampers Blog.
I made this card for the Paper Cupcakes Challenge this week. Jennifer B. challenged us to make a card with greens/neutral, and/or reusing/recycling items in our project. I chose to start with the Paper Cupcakesimage, Flowers for you. I recycled wall paper (the green plaid paper and the paper on the circle) from a wall paper book and used a very old button. We would love to have you join us for the challenge. You can find the details on the Paper Cupcake's Challenge Blog, There's Magic in the Air. Nina has a fun free image for you this week. You do not have to use a Paper Cupcake image, but we hope you will. It is always fun to see what everyone does with the images. Nina is also giving a way a couple of images this week, you can find the details on the blog. I hope to see you over there.
Happy October, everyone. It is a perfect time for making smores and roasting hot dogs. I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather. It feels good today, but tonight is suppose to be cold.
I am excited to tell you about my mousie card. I made it for the House Mouse and Friends challenge 105. We were to make our card glittery. I put glitter on his hat, not sure if you can see it. This card was made from scraps. My friend, Sue, was here visiting from PA. We saw some cards on a SU demo's blog made from scraps so that is where this idea came from. Sue put the strips on the card for me while she was here and I am just getting around to finishing it. Notice that there are two strips of paper vertically and horizontally, my ribbon hides a lot of it. I had the scalloped square in with these scraps so I added it and the cute little mousie. Isn't this a great way to use up those scraps? I have bags and bags of scraps, probably enough to make a jillion cards. What do you think about my scrappy card?
I also entered this card in the Tip Top Tuesday challenge and my tip is about how to use up the scraps.
The challenge for the TSC this week was to make a card with navy and gold. How could I use these colors and not make a Christmas card? I used my score pal to make the background paper as my Sizzix ef were not big enough. Ok, Sizzix, make some bigger ones so we can keep buying. :) I just received my Hello Doily stamp this week and it was perfect for the challenge. We would love to have you join us in the challenge. Use the keywords TSC0930.
The CCEE challenge for this week was given by Cindy. She challenged us to make a card with something to do with postage whether it have something to do with a postage stamp, a post card or postage edge. This one really threw me for a loop. The only thing I could think of to work with was deckled scissors. I started out with a completely different card. I changed my image mid stream then ran across this paper by Lost and Found that went pretty well with my Texas images. I worked really hard trying to do a vintage card, vintage does not come easily for me. The scripture was smudged purposely to make it look old. My friends Tate and Kathy helped me with supplies they had given me for my stash. Thanks, a bunch, gals.
We would love for you to join us in the CCEE challenge. To see the details of the challenge and the other cards by the other CCEE team members check out the the CCEE Stampers Blog.
Omgosh, I can't believe that I totally forgot to upload my CCEE1138 challenge card. I had company last week and was having a good time. The challenge was to use a bird on our card so I created a couple of blue birds for a nice view out my window. You can can check out the other team members projects on the CCEE Stampers Blog.
Thanks, again, for stopping by to see what I have created. Come back, soon.
The Paper Cupcakes Challenge for this week was given by Audrey. She challenged the team members to use 3 die cuts or punches on our cards this week. I chose to use this Paper Cupcakes image-Catch a Sunbeam. This is just such a happy image. It was fun to work with. I hope you enjoy looking at this card as much I had fun coloring it. If you would like to join us for this challenge, you can find more details and the other team members cards onPaper Cupcake's Challenge Blog, There's Magic in the Air.
Challenges entered: Make it Monday, digistamp 4joy, my mum craft shop and Ooh la la.
This is a card I made for my monthly swap with my local friends. We take turns meeting at each others home and make enough card kits for everyone. I always look forward to it because we always have good food and lots of laughs. The swap is today so I have to get ready to go.
The TSC challenge this week was to make a Christmas card and include glitter. I loved this stamp from Whipper Snapper and as you can tell, I had a lot of fun with it. I knew Santa would recognize that I had been a good girl. The list of names on the bad list are my friends who are my Twisted Sisters. They know I am just a wee bit mischievous so maybe they will forgive me. I was just having fun. I am sure they will get me back on this one.
This card was made for the Mothermark teapot party, today. I knew I wanted to make a round card and decided it was time for my visiting friend, IrishgreenSue, to help me turn it into an easel card. I am one of those people who can't follow directions so I am glad Sue was here to help me. Otherwise, my card would have been such a mess that I couldn't have posted it. (Grin)
Thanks, for coming by today. See you again soon.
Challenges entered: Make it Monday #55 Outlawz-anything goes
I have been missing for a few days. I have a SCS friend visiting here from PA and another SCS friend, from near Springfield IL, came for the weekend. I had met both of them once before. It was like we had known each other forever. We had a blast.
The Paper Cupcakes challenge for today was to make a card with someone special in mind. I thought the "Flowers for You" image was just perfect for this challenge. Look at that stitching, guess that is a good reason for me not to sew. Cruise on over to Paper Cupcake's Challenge Blog and join us for the challenge. Nina has a free digi for you. Hope to see you there.
This card was entered in the Digi Stamps 4 Joy, Sew Many Challenges and Going Grey with Scrap creations.
I love this little bobbie sox, poodle skirt girl by Squigglefly. Our challenge for the CCEE Stampers blog was given by Cindy. She challenged us to use pink either with a doily or lace. When I saw this sweet image, I knew right away, she was going to be used for my pink challenge. You can check out the other members cards and find the details for you to join our challenge on the CCEE Stampers Blog.
Wow, looks like I am on a Yellow and Blue kick this week. This is the third card in a week that I have used these colors. Funny thing is, they are not colors that I normally use. I made this card for the House Mouse and Friends Challenge this week. They are having a birthday celebration blog hop. The theme was birthday and flowers. Well, laying in a hammock with the fabulous weather we have been having this week, seems like a perfect way to spend a relaxing birthday. If you want to see some cute mousie cards stop byHouse Mouse and Friends Blog Hop.
This card was made for Priscilla's Midnight Madness sketch challenge this week. This image is one of Priscilla's. I purchased it months ago and and it just seemed to go perfect with the dp.
I promise that my next card will not be yellow and blue, I do believe I am done with those colors for a while.
Have a wonderful day. I am happy you stopped in to take a look at my cards. "Come back soon, now, ya hear?" Challenges: Midnight Madness - Sketch The Pink Elephant - Vintage
This week the Paper Cupcakes/There's Magic in the Air Blog challenge was to make a shaped card, anything but a square or rectangle. We were supposed to use the Freebie image that Nina has on the blog this week, "Sending Love Your Way". We would love to have you join us for the challenge this week, you can use the free image, an image of your choice doesn't have to be Paper Cupcakes or you can go shopping at thePaper Cupcake's Challenge Blog and pick an image of your liking.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. It really seemed to fly by at our house.
I had a few challenges I wanted to do this week so due to lack of time, I was able to combine them. This card was made for the teapot party this week. The cards go to Eula who is celebrating her 109th birthday. Wow, can you imagine being her age and still having a sharp mind like she does. My poor little mind forgets more and more each day. Eula likes to know about the internet and about others lives. What card would better describe something about me than a dog card. Most of you know my hobby seems to be collecting dogs lately. Real ones. This squigglefly image was perfect since the last dog that came to my home to adopt me was a Doxie girl. (my Doxie is black, but with the black sunglasses, the blacks just blended together, I will have to practice on that) The Squigglefly challenge was to use green and blue. I added the lace border to soften it us since I am sending it to Ms. Eula. I also used the Midnight Madness challenge for this week.
Cindy challenged the CCEE stampers to make a round card with stitching this week. Ok, so I may have cheated just a bit by using faux stitching. We would love to have you join us in the challenge. You can check out the details and the other team members cards at the CCEE Stampers blog.
Card recipe-Paper Cupcakes image, green galore and pink card stock, white gel pen, embossing folder, cricut wild card cartridge, ribbon and copics, (YG05, YG07, RV02, RV06, Y11, Y00, E35, R27)
I love this house mouse image and it was perfect to make my Orange Sherbet recipe card with it. I cannot believe that summer is gone and I did not make this scrumptious sherbet. It is our favorite. Over at House Mouse designs, they are having a House Mouse and Friends recipe challenge. I thought this little recipe card would be perfect for their challenge.
I made this card for the Paper Cupcakes challenge this week. Gloria challenged us to make a back to school card. I chose to use Eldon with some school themed paper. Take a minute and check out the other Cupcakes cards at Paper Cupcake's Challenge Blog. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
Challenges entered with this card: Come and get it challenges, Crazy 4 Challenges, 1 stop craft challenge, Sweet Stampin Challenges and Stamp Insanity.
The CCEE Blog challenge this week was given by Cindy. She challenged us to make a Fall card, use a die cut which could be homemade or store bought. After I posted my card to the CCEE blog, I read the details of the challenge again and there should have been some stitching on my card. I sew as bad on paper as I do on material. Many years ago, I even made my daughter quite a few cute outfits. I sure couldn't do it now. Ok, that is enough about my sewing. Why don't you all check out the other CCEE team members cards Here.
Hope you all are having a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. My family are all scattered out in different directions this weekend. My hubby raced last night, at small track near our home, he came in second. My son's band played at a near by festival last night. My grandson's are bull riding this weekend. They were at Popcorn Days, in Southern IL, last night, one of them tied for second, the other one got hurt (a concussion). He seems fine today. Tonight and tomorrow they are riding at the DuQuoin State Fair. I am praying for safe rides for both of them.
I used the "On The Road Again" image this week for the Paper Cupcakeschallenge. We were challenged to use three ribbons on our card, excluding white. We could use 3 ribbons in 3 different ways, use 3 different color ribbons or use 3 different colors of ribbon. We would love for you to drop by the blog to check out the other designer's cards and get the details of the challenge so you can play along with us. Hope to see you at the Paper Cupcake's Challenge Blog .
I have had family visiting from California and Nevada for the last five days. We had a great time, but it went by way too fast. They had to leave today and I miss them already. Even my dogs seems to miss them, they are being very quiet today. I wish they could have stayed longer, but I am sure they were ready to get headed home. They have two fur babies at home that they are missing terribly. I sure know all about missing those fur babies since I have five of my own.
Hope you have a wonderful week jam packed with lots of good things.
